A Powerful But Kind of Pointless Funeral Oration

Text and Illustrations by
Oren Ginzburg

Speech on the stones: Pericles, son of Xanthippus

From the foreword:

"Pericles’ Funeral Oration, delivered in 431 BCE after Athens’ victorious return from the Peloponnesian war, is one of the most important speeches in the history of humankind.

While the full text of the speech has been known for centuries, it is not until very recently that historians were able to reconstruct Pericles’ actual delivery of the Oration - a delivery during which he seems to have used a rudimentary precursor of PowerPoint®, the presentation software."

A few more words:

This book is only for people whose past includes intense suffering while attending presentations. If you are among them, you may take comfort in knowing that you are but one of a long chain of victims throughout History.

The Greek Theocritos put it best in 415 BCE when he wrote: "There are three kinds of men: the living, the dead, and those attending a stone-tablet presentation."
